Eclipse does not have #Java8 Compliance

How to rectify this issue when you have already installed the Java 8 jre and jdk and still the Eclipse is not compiling the Java8 code\

Pre-requirements:

  1. Install  Java™ 8.
  2. Install Kepler SR2 (4.3.2) .

The Kepler is still not supporting Java8. What to do?

  1. Open Eclipse
  2. Help > Install New Software…
  3. Enter the following URL into the ‘Work with’ field:
    http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/updates/4.3-P-builds/
  4. Press ‘Enter’
  5. Select category ‘Eclipse Java 8 Support (for Kepler SR2)’
  6. Click ‘Next’Capture
  7. Click ‘Next’
  8. Accept Licence Agreement
  9. Click ‘Finish’

Restart Eclipse and now your #Java8 code will compile.

  1. follow the above procedure but use the following two URls in the 3rd point.
    http://download.eclipse.org/efxclipse/updates-released/0.9.0/site

    http://download.eclipse.org/modeling/tmf/xtext/updates/composite/releases/
